Lips, Lines, and Folds

Facial fillers are cosmetic treatments used to restore areas of the face that have lost volume due to aging. Facial fillers can be used to correct age-related changes such as deep creases between the nose and mouth, hollowed cheeks, or sunken temples.

A Non-Invasive Way To Alter Your Facial Features

Lip Fillers Reverse Facial Aging

Facial aging starts as early as the 20s and causes our skin to change continuously over time. The most common skin change associated with facial aging is a loss of lip volume due to a decrease in hyaluronic acid production. When hyaluronic acid decreases, this causes the skin around the lips to lose elasticity and fullness. The result is flat lips and prominent nasolabial folds.

Facial fillers reverse these signs of facial aging by injecting hyaluronic acid directly into and around the lips. In addition to giving the lips a fuller appearance and smoothing wrinkles around the lips, hyaluronic acid also helps to promote the production of collagen to firm up the skin.

Facial fillers are very popular among patients who want to alter their facial features without undergoing surgery.

The most common benefit of receiving a facial filler is the smoothing of fine lines and wrinkles that result from aging. Other benefits include:

  • Remove marionette lines
  • Remove laugh lines
  • Remove smile lines
  • Fill in sunken areas around the mouth
  • Remove deep creases between the nose and mouth, or around the chin
  • Plump the lips & decrease vertical lip lines
  • Improve facial symmetry

At Love To Live, We Use Only The Best!

There are different types of facial fillers, but at Love To Live we use hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers. Hyaluronic acid is naturally found in the skin, connective tissues, and the fluid around the eyes. It functions to promote skin hydration, although it also has other medical applications as well. HA fillers have a gel-like consistency, last for 6-12 months, and can be safely absorbed by the body.

Facial Fillers For Lips, Lines & Folds

Lips

Like other parts of the face, the lips lose volume, color, and elasticity due to aging. Lip fillers work by restoring this volume, color, and elasticity in order to smooth upper lip lines for up to a year. Lip fillers are designed to maintain a natural appearance that allows for flexible lip movements. 98% of people were satisfied with lip fillers, with 96% of them noting that their lips looked natural.

Lines

Laugh lines occur when age causes nasolabial folds to deepen and marionette lines to form. Facial fillers can be used to correct these lines by depositing hyaluronic acid into areas of volume loss in order to plump these areas and decrease the appearance of lines.

Folds

Facial folds occur in the same way as facial lines, however the main difference is that facial folds are deep facial lines. In these cases, a denser facial filler is required to obtain the desired results. Facial fillers used to correct facial folds tend to be a balance between support and flexibility.

Increase Volume & Restore Youthfulness

The Treatment Process:

  1. The treatment area around the lips and mouth will be thoroughly cleansed and a topical anesthetic may be placed.
  2. The desired filler will be injected into the treatment area around the lips and mouth. In most cases, there is little discomfort associated with these injections since the needle is so tiny. However, anesthetics can usually be used when requested.
  3. Depending on your treatment goals, the treatment area, and the product you have chosen, you may need to have multiple injections and/or injection appointments.

Making Your Aftercare Easy & Convenient.

After receiving lip filler treatment, you will be able to return to most activities immediately. The only exception to this is that it is recommended to avoid intense physical activity for 24-48 hours to prevent excess swelling or bruising. Initially, it is normal to experience swelling, bruising, lumps around the injection site, or an “overfilled” appearance.

In most cases, these symptoms will subside within a few days. Applying ice packs or massaging the treatment sites can also help ease these symptoms. Your Love To Live skincare specialist will provide you with guidelines to follow after having lip filler injections.
